The NEV Commuter meets National Highway Traffic & Safety Administration (NHTSA) requirements CFR 49 part 571.500 for low speed vehicles, with reverse warning alarm, horn, suntop, polycarbonate windshield, digital battery discharge indicator, 5 panel rear view mirror, deluxe lights (head, tail & brake lights, turn indicators, emergency flashers), driver side view mirror, retractable seat belts (2 sets), red reflectors.
